Anyone who lives in South Africa, and especially those of us who live in the “big cities” have at some time or another had a run in with the local minibus taxi drivers. Now you can take out your frustrations on the taxi’s and there drivers in this online game. Found via this story on IOL.

Full text RSS feeds in WordPress 2.1
Admittedly I don’t read my site using a RSS reader so I didn’t notice that my RSS feeds were no longer full text feeds and were being cut off. So thanks must go to fellow blogger, Richard who noticed that the RSS feeds were being truncated. A bit of investigation and it turns out that this is a new “feature”.
If you use the more tag on a post in the new WordPress everything after the tag doesn’t appear in the RSS feed. There is no way to switch off this behavior in standard WordPress but I (well Google) found a simple plugin for WordPress from cavemonkey50 that appears to fix the problem.
So let me know if it’s still broken or not. [You should see “Greetins Earthlings” below if it worked.]
Pics of our Flat
So a few weeks ago I moved in with a friend (Ryan) into a flat, because of this I’ve been without Internet until the ADSL line went in. The flat is a ground floor, two bedroom flat in Boston, near Tyger Valley Capetown.
So now without further delay here are the pictures of the flat. Continue reading
Trimming a few Trees
I stay with some friends in a part of Capetown called Penhill, which consists mostly of small holdings and is generally a rather peaceful neighborhood, this Saturday though the peaceful sounds of country life (Police sirens, people shouting, birds shouting, dogs barking, quad bikes and Toyota Hilux Bakkies racing around dirt roads.) was shattered by the warning beeps of trucks backing up and chainsaws.
The local municipality had decided to “trim” a few trees that might come down on power lines. I like trees, especially those that are taller than me but I do understand that they need to be trimmed to ensure that a branch doesn’t come down on a power line on a cold winters morning depriving the local inhabitants of a good hot cup of coffee in the morning.
Unknown Car
Saw this car in the traffic, the picture was taken through the back window of my aunts VW Polo. I really like the car and it was in immaculate condition, I actually thought it was a new car, something like a Daihatsu Copen. My uncle is pretty sure it said Peugeot on the back, but more info would be greatly appreciated.
Trip to Mosselbay..
Some friends and I took a trip out to Mosselbay for lunch and ended up spending a few hours chatting, driving round and taking a short walk round parts of Mosselbay.
We had lunch at Delfino’s which is right on the ocean and you have wonderful views of the waves breaking on rocks, also got to see a small school of dolphins.
We took a walk up towards the Light House and saw a few dassies that were there. In the photo on the far left you can see the “chief” dassie that was looking down on the others.
Below are some photo’s from halfway up where there is big cave that’s been carved out of the rocks by the sea centuries ago. Below are some pictures taken from the entrance to the cave and from various places along the way.
The guy standing alone is a friend, Renier and the other two are Coenie and his girlfriend Sunelle.
These pictures were taken from the car as we drove round Mosselbay.
Mosselbay has got lots of great old stone buildings that are still standing and being used as shops and restaurants. I really do wish I could spend more time in the town and wonder about.
The trip to Mosselbay was a great way to spend a day off and I it was awesome to spend some time with my friends and sit around and chat about “stuff”.
All these pictures were taken with my Cellphone (Sony Ericsson w850i) it was a sort of spur of the moment trip so I didn’t have my Sony Digital camera with me.
Can a Virtual life replace your real one?
The big question is can your virtual life replace your real one? Richard @ mementomari touched on this a little in a post and some of the comments also touched on this very idea too. As humans have evolved we’ve gained various skills and ability’s that are important to our very survival that don’t translate very well into a virtual world.

Complaints from Readers.
My mother, one of my few regular readers is complaining that the only time I post on this site is when I’m in a car or an airport… now I’ll be the first to admit that of the last 5 posts, 4? (I think, I didn’t count them) of them have been posted while either being in a car or at an airport the simple reason for this is because at that time I had nothing better to do.
I’ll see how things go and try post a little more regularly, either that or travel more 🙂
Blogging on the go.
On my trip back to Cape town this weekend I got kablog working on my cell, this means I’m able to blog on the move.
This post is being posted from my new sony ericsson w850i cell phone from somewhere just outside Mosselbay.
Bug in VBA in Excel?
I’ve been spending a lot of time in Excel’s VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) editor and I’ve found an odd bug. In the main code editor window the scroll wheel on my mouse won’t work. I didn’t realize how much I use that scroll wheel while I’m coding, until it didn’t work.
I’m also pretty sure that the intellisense is buggy or perhaps just not that intelligent.? That’s the problem with getting so used to IDE’s like Visual Studio 2005 and the new Netbeans, is that you come to rely on intellisense and auto completion and those cool drop down box’s too much. Maybe I should go “hardcore” and use emacs or VI or cat, mmmh would have to be notepad on windows…
This is all in Microsoft Excel 2003.
