I love black & white drawings and in particular I love inked or pencil sketches of buildings or other man made objects.

One of our clients has these 3 drawings hanging on their wall, I love the drawings and would love to know if anyone knows where I could get them or something similiar or perhaps if someone has some info on them.

I’ve got a serious problem when it comes to books… I like them alot. I admittedly wasn’t always like this, when I was in school I hated reading anything other than non-fiction.

Africa on the web?

I must admit that when it comes to what’s going on in my own country (South Africa) and on the continent it’s on (Africa) I like alot of South African’s am rather oblivous.

Yes I watch the news on TV, read news papers etc. But I never realised that there are alot of inventions, technology and cool things going on. Perhaps it’s because the news only reports on the bad things and never on the good things or maybe it’s because we’re more interested in what’s going on in Europe and America and the rest of the world and forget about Africa as it’s the “Dark Continent” that nothing comes from.

Curta Calculators

While I had seen the odd Curta Calculator on the web and in books they had never really been able to attract much interest from me. At first they sort of look like a fancy fishing reel or perhaps a really complex pepper grinder.

It wasn’t until I read William Gibson’s Pattern Recognition that I truly understood what a remarkable piece of engineering one of these calculators are.

Awesome Guitar Solo

You know when you hear a piece of music that makes the hairs on your neck standup and you get goose bumps ? Well this is one of those kinds of pieces of music, the difference is that it’s all being played by one person on a single acoustic guitar.

This one I stumbled across while doing my morning browse of my favourite websites. This one I found via digg and it was so impressive I just had to share it.
