Here are a few links I’ve run across over the last few days that I found interesting or useful. I’m putting them up here so that they don’t get lost.

B&W artwork
I love black & white drawings and in particular I love inked or pencil sketches of buildings or other man made objects.
One of our clients has these 3 drawings hanging on their wall, I love the drawings and would love to know if anyone knows where I could get them or something similiar or perhaps if someone has some info on them.
George, Travelling, Snow !!
So I haven’t exactly been keeping this site up todate I am sorry. Unfortunately I’ve been rather busy lately and haven’t felt like writing anything…
So this weekend a friend and I went back to George for a short visit.
Books
I’ve got a serious problem when it comes to books… I like them alot. I admittedly wasn’t always like this, when I was in school I hated reading anything other than non-fiction.
Then a friend gave me a .txt file of William Gibson’s – Neuromancer on disk of all things and it changed my life…
Africa on the web?
I must admit that when it comes to what’s going on in my own country (South Africa) and on the continent it’s on (Africa) I like alot of South African’s am rather oblivous.
Yes I watch the news on TV, read news papers etc. But I never realised that there are alot of inventions, technology and cool things going on. Perhaps it’s because the news only reports on the bad things and never on the good things or maybe it’s because we’re more interested in what’s going on in Europe and America and the rest of the world and forget about Africa as it’s the “Dark Continent” that nothing comes from.
Funny signature on a forum post.
Was browsing around some forums and saw this .sig thought it was pretty good.
We are Dyslexia of Borg, Fusistance is retile, Your ass will be laminated.
Although I guess you have to be a star trek fan to get it?
Curta Calculators
While I had seen the odd Curta Calculator on the web and in books they had never really been able to attract much interest from me. At first they sort of look like a fancy fishing reel or perhaps a really complex pepper grinder.
It wasn’t until I read William Gibson’s Pattern Recognition that I truly understood what a remarkable piece of engineering one of these calculators are.
I just had to share this quote.
I just had to share this quote I found:
We, the unwilling,
led by the unknowing,
are doing the impossible
for the ungrateful.
We have done so much,
for so long,
with so little,
we are now qualified to do anything
with nothing.

Awesome Guitar Solo
You know when you hear a piece of music that makes the hairs on your neck standup and you get goose bumps ? Well this is one of those kinds of pieces of music, the difference is that it’s all being played by one person on a single acoustic guitar.
This one I stumbled across while doing my morning browse of my favourite websites. This one I found via digg and it was so impressive I just had to share it.
Here is a direct link to the YouTube page with it on.
Odd assortment of links.
This is an odd assortment of sites that I found tonight while browsing around the web, normally I would bookmark them and they would be forgotten in the blackhole that is my bookmarks folder. But in the interests of sharing things and in the hopes that someone will find them interesting I’m going to share them with you…
