Follow up – Best Job in the World
I’m not sure how many of you remember the “Best Job in the World” site, I posted it here a while back. I came across the guy who got to go to the islands blog today, It’s actually a very interesting read… his time on the island is now coming to an end but its interesting to read back about the things that happened to him.
There are tons of awesome photo’s on the site and if you’re interested in Australia there is lots of cool photo’s and info about it.

Giant Industrial Gasworks Turned into domed indoor town.
I just love the look of this place and the idea of using an old structure to create something new. I wonder if its cheaper keeping the existing structure? In the case of the Gasworks I don’t think this would’ve been done had they not had the gasworks sitting there doing nothing.
Time is running out…
Time is running out as our wedding fast approaches, its only 9 more days till the big day. Friends, family and future family have started arriving, I still haven’t finished everything I’m supposed to do and my day job is starting to get in the way, but I need some way to pay for the honeymoon.
I’m still trying to finish writing my speech and try not insult the future in-laws, my parents or any family and guests…

Noticed this on the weekend while doing the grocery shopping. I’ve always wondered how these price scanning stations worked, I guessed a webpage but the above error message proves it.
Shadow Caddy
As an ex-golfer and gadget/robot freak I have to admit this is rather a cool idea. The Shadow Caddy is a sort of “robotic” vehicle that you put your golf clubs on and it follows you around the golf course.
I’m not sure how good it is and how well it copes with the often rough terrain of golf courses, in particular if you’re like me and spend most of your time in the rough on the course. The upside is that you don’t have to drag a cart around or carry a bag and you won’t have to listen to snide remarks from your wife caddy when you hit a bad shot, the downside is that you don’t get the info and insight of a good local caddy about club selection etc and its not capable of helping you find your ball when you hit it in the really thick stuff.
F-4 Ejection seat office chair.
I stumbled across this awesome chair made out of an F-4 Ejection seat, the same site has a few other chairs made out of other ejection seats too. I wonder comfortable and ergonomic the chair actually is? It wasn’t designed for people sitting at a desk all day, but I have to admit having a chair like that would at least bring a smile to my face everytime I looked at it.
Cool Cufflinks
I don’t wear cuff links, in fact I’ve never worn them… but I have fond memories of when I was kid and my father would be getting ready for an important dinner or similar event sitting on his bed scratching through his box of cuff links.
Lately in?preparation?for my wedding I’ve been wondering if I shouldn’t perhaps wear cuff links to my wedding, that got me doing some searching online for “funky” cuff links, these ones by the designer Jan Leslie I think are awesome… although they’re not exactly “me”, but they are still very nice. They’ve got a few very nice ones for golfing?enthusiasts.
Monster vs Hunter Chess set
I found this awesome chess set online. They’re cast marble pieces that are hand sanded and finished, they look awesome. The bad guys (black) are all of monsters like Werewolves, Vampires etc.. with the Good guys (White) being priests, soldiers etc. I really like the look of this chess set, although I seen a few equally nice hand carved ones on the streets of Capetown.
