Play with someone else’s wife tonight.

While browsing around the web I came across the following banner ad a few times.

Play with someone else's wife tonight.

And if you click on it you go through to the Ashley Madison Agency website which advertises its self as the “Premier Discreet Dating Service.” From what I can tell they?specialise?in matching people up who want to have affairs. I have to admit it seems a rather odd kind of dating service to run and perhaps even weirder to actually use. But I guess it is a rather niche market that they’re “servicing”.

I guess I’m just not as “open” to these kinds of things as other people…

I realise now that the banner ad and its tag line are rather catchy as it got me to actually click the link even though I’m a soon to be happily married man (I hope) and have no interest in having an affair and almost never click banner ads.

Russian billionaire fits mega-yacht with anti-photo shield

According to this article from Wired (found via BoingBoing) the russian billionaire Roman Abramovich has fitted his yacht with an anti-photo shield that uses lasers to overpower the CCD sensors in digital camera’s destroying any photo’s of his yacht or the guests on it.

Yacht

I’m not sure exactly how or even if this works, I’m assuming the article has been “dumbed” down along the way and that actually this thing has some kind of laser (perhaps a IR one?) that over powers the sensitive CCD sensors in the camera’s probably making the yacht appear like a giant ball of light. If it is something like that it should be possible to still get a photo if the right filters where used on the camera. I doubt very much it has a laser that tracks down every camera and fires a burst at it that selectively destroys images of the yacht. Continue reading

Ferrari – Lap Time Chronograph

Ferrari - Lap Time Chronograph WatchAs I’ve said before I have a thing for watches, I found this one while browsing around the Ferrari store. It’s a Ferrari designed watch and it looks awesome, its a bit too pricey for me but I really wouldn’t mind one.

It’s a dual analogue/digital time piece with high-precision swiss movement, it supports 3 time zones and is water resistant to 5 ATM’s, its got an alarm and date function all in a very attractive black stainless steel casing with a unbreakable glass face and black rubber strap.

Obviously the watch has got the Ferrari name and logo all over it, but I think its tastefully done.

Sydney Dust Storm

Sydney Dust Storm, originally uploaded by tomhide.

Found this awesome photo and entry on Flickr about the dust storms in Australia. This dust storm looks hectic, I can’t believe people braved it to go for a walk, let alone go take photos. I would hate to think what all that dust must do to the camera equipment.

I wonder if it was a fine dust? or perhaps more sandy dust? Sandy dust could do some serious damage if its moving at high speed, it would basically sand blast everything in its path.
